« Hey everybody thanks for stopping by! »
Here’s a peek into our history
2009
Steve and I met by chance at a small party through mutual friends
^ 2010 ^
’10 – ’14
We became friends and as we grew closer there was no denying the awesome between us!
We grew closer in-between working our jobs, studying for school, and living life.
We went on easy adventures around our hometowns together and eventually we graduated from our universities.
More dreaming, love, laughs, and big plans for our future were shared and..
’15 – ’19
After working in the city for years, Steve wanted to start his own design business which took much time & patience to build up.
We spent a year planning our escape of reality as we knew it. On Steve’s third year of business he felt confident to leave home for a try at this strange yet balanced life of work and fun as a digital nomad.
Over the years, Laura has been the muse, the steadfast driver of the cars, the cooker of tasty food, the massage therapist, the silly smile maker, collector of beautiful objects, and wire wrapped jewelry creator! Steve has been the steadfast rock that inspires us both.

A deeper look?
2015 – ’17, USA
The lightest way to bicycle tour is with a lightweight tent. So we lived in a tent, wandering the forests and high deserts. We climbed mountains, bathed and swam in the river and oceans of the USA with coffee shops as our office. When your out on your own for the first time, every small thing is a big accomplishment. Putting up the tent together every night, sleeping in the fresh night air under the stars, folding the tent again every day, firing up the stove to cook or boil water, and loading the GPS to move on and do it all over again! The feelings were wild and free while fully immersed in the moments of our days. We were always on the look out for a beautiful objects that would catch our eye on walks or hikes. After we roamed 30 states we’ve amassed a collection of minerals, crystals, shells, wood, feathers, and dried herbs we are really proud of.
We ended up narrowly escaping the windy winter weather of Southern California in ’16-’17 and headed down to Baja Mexico.
’18, EU
After seven months of downtime back home with family and friends – Steve knew he would regret any chance he didn’t take – so we used those months to plan. We eagerly boarded a plane in February 2018 heading straight to Amsterdam! We had researched and bought a 1992 VW Transporter van from Donna at dutchcampervans.com and roamed Europe. The Netherlands is very cold in February and so is most of Europe so it was a cold beginning and we struggled while having fun. As we connected deeper with each other, with history, with our German & Italian heritage, it got warmer as we visited Turkiye and the Balkan countries, too. These crazy sweet memories will be a constant source of love and confidence for all accomplished.
So anyway.. Our planned route around EU was a loop. So when ten months came around and our visas expired, it was time to leave the country so we sold the van back to the woman for a percentage of the price as originally planned. We were extremely grateful that everything had worked out with minor van issues along the way. With appreciation for this life we cultivated… we noticed that this might be our *only chance* to ever get to South East Asia. Going now made logistical sense and we both agreed we wanted to keep traveling (though we surely missed home).
2019, SEA
Our next moves were beyond exciting! While in the van, Steve realized that we could explore South East Asia very inexpensively, and from Europe it was closer to fly. We booked our flights with layovers and downloaded Duolingo and other apps to have fun practicing the native languages to impress locals. For ten months, we experienced the beautiful chaos of backpacking in five countries.. each with its own history, culture, language, currency, and feeling. Our time immersed in these countries will be remembered as our best times. The most deeply happy times. These travels are our favorite. It was a time and place in space that we will remain eternally grateful.
We can only dream to return one day.. Who knows what the future holds!
And so… On a beach in Bali, our hearts beating steady torn in the bittersweet feelings of wanting to stay forever and knowing we must leave… Steve and I said our final goodbyes to our overseas travels – remembering all the way back to the start of 2018 and 2019. Around September of 2019 we reunited with our families, enjoyed friends, and this welcomed break from constant motion.
… aaaaand big plans have been underway ever since!
